I go through cycles of fitness peak and a fatness trough and I am currently in a fatness phase. Before now, I would write a little ditty, generally titled Fake It Till You Make It, and post it to my blog or Huffington Post and I would be motivated for enough time to return myself to strength and fitness.

The last time I did it, I used Facebook and Instagram as a platform for feedback and accountability. Now, this time, it isn’t working so I need to take it to the next step. The next step is starting up a dedicated heath and fitness blog.

I called it RNNR.US because I already owned the domain name and because it’s catchy and brief. We’ll see if I keep it.  I already had the logo from a link sharing app that I hosted for years.

Now, it’s my health and fitness blog focusing mainly on my seven obsessions: running, rowing, erging, biking, cooking, TRX straps, and kettlebells.  We’ll see, I also have medicine balls, a swissball, a Bosu ball, and a treadmill desk as well. I even have a chin-up bar and have a dip stand if I sort out a mistake I made on eBay.

Gear: I’ll go through all my gear and all of my workouts and everything here.

Nutrition: I realize that calories in is at least 80% of being healthy and getting trim so I will share my food choices and my work towards not only eating right but also using portion control to limit the number of calories and types of food I put into my body.

Workouts: Even though I have a lot of the gear that I need in my office and at home, the gear doesn’t do my workouts for me and the bike doesn’t ride itself and those Hoka One One Bondi 4s don’t do the running.

So, tracking the workouts I do and how I feel about this is going to be a major part of my blog. This blog is less for you and more for me.

Even if nobody’s reading, I still feel like keeping a health, strength, fitness, sport, athletic, nutrition, and weightloss blog is the way to go, at least for me.

Eating: Isn’t it sad that I even lie to my calorie tracker? At least after 3- or 4-o’clock in the afternoon when it’s a lot harder to track the glasses of wine or bar fish tacos.  I’ll work hard at this and try to share my successes and failures with you. I’ll let you know how that goes.

I hope to use the space to help me fake it till I make it — you’ll come along with me as I sort out if I remember to be healthy.
