My latest plan for getting fit fast
May 26, 2019
I plan to spend my workdays at my sports club since they have Wi-Fi, someplace nice to work, air conditioning, lots of changes to work out, and it’s far from access to junk food. It’s also around lots of fit people, I pay dues, and I’ll pedal bicycle the 4.6 miles there and the 4.6 miles home. Perfect!
You can’t beat an AmazonBasics cast iron kettlebell

This is another example of AmazonBasics disrupting a market to the point of saying “uncle.” Luckily for my favorites, CFF Fit, Kettlebell Kings, and Kettlebells USA, people still go for brand names and powder coatings.

I was a college rower on a college crew
May 23, 2019
My Novice GW Crew coach, Stephen Weiss, was my idol. No matter how young and strong and cocky we young rowers were during training, Steve could take us. He could row faster, he could lift stronger, he could run further, he could sprint harder. At the time, he seemed so old, but he was really only 12-years older than I was. I was 18 and so he was only 30. So young. I received this photo from him just today.
My leather BAGGU bag
May 23, 2019
I feel like my natural leather BAGGU bag that’s very simple, super durable, so gorgeous and well-made, is one of my very favorite things, one of my most valued possessions.
And the swinging is easy . . . until the last set
May 22, 2019
Pavel always reminds us to leave gas in the tank, to make sure you come right up to “I’m so done” and not that much further—at least not during the everyday. Yes, in competitions and in strength testing, but not in daily training.
In the groove with 501 kettlebell swings
May 21, 2019
I think that maybe my Atlas Wristband2 ($40.79) might have counted one session twice but I erring on the side of being more badass. I will try to make sure I don’t mess up the tracking anymore, but I am pretty happy with swinging the equivalent of 6,012 kilograms over the course of the day. Here are the sessions and the times.
Finally on my way with my kettlebell swing habit starting with a 12kg
May 19, 2019
I have been saying that I am going to swing a kettlebell for 90-seconds every 60-minutes. Well, I actually started in earnest today but with a 12kg kettlebell instead of my 24kg bell, and every 30-minutes instead of every 60

Took a Saturday evening to mosey around South Arlington. Grabbed some espresso.
